I would have a go with the project but my laptop is down and no longer have psp and only use school pc as a result so I will be unable to For replacing City Threads, how about Force threads, eg, He Jin's Forces, Cao Cao's forces....maybe have a sticky of all cities they owe to give a range of places they can rp in.

I think.... that Zhuge Liang should be a demon =D (or at least make someone a demon, cause you can't have fantasy without demons =DDD). But yeah, I like the idea of more battling and less city working - like most people said, it keeps the interest in rping.
As for your City Threads, assuming that we'll still be working (in rp form), maybe make one thread for the city work and specify in your post what you will be working for. The amount of work you do will be determined by the quality of your rp. Does that sound good so far?

So I was thinking about working on my own 3k site in the shower earlier (the time of day I usually have revelations that I later forget about lol) and realised I don't have the inspiration to start making a site, especially when you guys are setting this one back up.
Okay so you want it to be based around the battle aspect well I propose this system: (May have been done, but I've never personally seen it implimented on a 3k site)
Simply put you'd have your layout to be the three (or however many kingdoms) capital cities with the possibility of a few important cities (of which you could add factors that tie in with the next few things). Now the main board structure would seem thin to start out with, or as I like to call it the Diplomacy Stage, during this time you have a state of peace/rebuilding which lasts for between 1 to 2 weeks* after which each faction MUST state a declaration of war on another faction.
Now if we do have 3 kingdoms that would mean either one kingdom gets ganged up on, or all factions are attacked by a seperate force, all of which we can accomodate by my next idea which also came to me all of a sudden, again nothing fancy and probably has been done:
A 2 vs 1 is simple enough, but if you do have multiple battles, likelyhood will be that one battle will last longer than another and this is a worry for activity, but you can simply have a reinforcement boost for officers who have finished one battle, and depending on whether victorious or defeated could depend on how many reinforcements they could bring.
After the battles you'd simply have to reward, or do whatever you put in place post-battle and move back onto the dipolomacy phase where players can roleplay normally and kingdoms can send envoys making wild ideas for alliances and so forth.
* = just my initial idea for a value, change it as you please.
To expand on my points. After the declarations of war, I, or whoever will make the maps will quickly make one, or several and pass it onto one of you boys with power, who can take decisions for troop numbers, locations and what not.
In terms of me talking about important cities/locations, my idea for land change came into my head like a big 3k map and I was thinking about Jing, Luo Yang, Yi... you know, a few bigger cities/important areas where you could add extra emphasis for kingdoms to take, possibly to give rp consideration troop bonuses and what not.

Nice Adam, I had quite a similar system in mind. Maybe we should test out these ideas now with the five of us here. Anyone up for a road test?

Sounds good to me you want me as my character or do you need a ruler for the test run?
Btw idea for officer recruitment. Mainly based around my own dislikes when I rule. I hate it when I have to go to work, come back and I have a few officers doing the exact same thing "oh please almighty master of baguettes and chicken wings, may I join your kitchen kingdom, I promise I will suck your toes and cuddle you in your sleep!" well you get the idea... What about a new system to recruit, basically a thread in the capital called "Conscription" whereby if say I have just joined, I simply get approved for my character and post in whatever kingdom's conscription thread saying - Liu Feng has been conscripted to lieutenant. Then they can roleplay, with restrictions placed in the rules aka you can only roleplay as a lower officer in a small unit, you cannot attend battle, you are guarded at all times for being a newcomer and any attempt at treason/betrayal etc will be met with an instant defeat.
The ruler then will need to approve of his new aquisition, of course during battle this may be hard, but of course a prime minister or the rulers npc could also be used (again if not in battle). This would then promote the lieutenant to a full officer with whatever starting title the ruler wishes to give. If promoted in the middle of a battle, there is a chance for that new officer to appear with a very small force as reinforcements, again to prolong activity and interest.

I like that idea of recruitment and a way of progressing through the ranks, adds that something that is different. I approve.
A force wouldn't like to absorb anyone however, should this be the case or one force is being favoured more than another, we should be able to reject officer applications. So perhaps you should some form of necessary text they must write to prove their worth. To try and justify their employment so to speak.
I feel that would make people strive for more than just a paragragh and give them a boost in confidence perhaps.

That recruitment idea is a great idea. Enough said. I have also been annoyed by the free officers entering into a liege's city and pretty much going all the way up to General just for asking to join. Very, very annoying and unrealistic. We should go with Adam's proposal, but give the option to joining members to start off as a veteran ranking officer in a force. Conscription should work as conscription haha. Perhaps an official could enter the house of a free officer within the conscripting city forcing them to enlist or die. And Sam, the RP during the recruitment phase should serve as the proving ground for the liege to decide whether or not to accept him or send him into a suicide mission during battle As a low ranking character, perhaps even just a Foot Soldier >.>, the player will be forced into a unit under maybe an NPC officer, and in this way, sent to battles on the frontlines. So maybe for our test battle we could have Cao Cao as a liege, three He Jin officers and one Deng Ai who is a foot soldier in Cao's army. This way I can test everything.

This sounds all good including Adam's idea - Also like the idea of ranks aswell. For characters, is there a limit of how long you can hold onto a Canon Character? as it is not fair for someone active who wants to play someone who is taken(whose inactive)

I'm liking all of the ideas. Maybe (in addition to the restriction idea Adam had) put a restriction of about 3-4 officers that a kingdom may hire at one time, and as the kingdom grows this number becomes greater. That way all kingdoms will be able to have a fair number of officers when the time comes. The battle ideas are also very well thought out and well - good =p.
I can probably participate in the test, but with exams coming up the posts might be a bit brief at times.
EDIT: I'm also able to do your map thing, however I don't really understand what you want me to do, if you could like explain it again using simpler stuffs I might understand.
